Welcome to the Stanford Social Concepts Lab! We integrate developmental, social, and cognitive perspectives to examine how children and adults perceive themselves, others, and groups of people, and we are particularly interested in how those perceptions develop and contribute to social bias. How does how we think influence how we perceive, evaluate, and interact with people? How does this thinking change across development, between populations, and across contexts? Under which conditions is this thinking strongest, and under which can it be weakened? For information about some of our research projects, please click here.
